18

Bonjour,

Today is Nov 18, but who's keeping track? I do know its Tuesday and where we have been & are headed. That's all I need to know.

Yesterday morning we left the marina at Uturoa on the island of Raiatea. We went to a place in Tahaa where the drift carries you over the coral. All you need to do is keep your eyes open and breathe. That and watch out so you drift in an area where the coral is not high otherwise you collide into it. Still, the photos I took using an underwater camera were great although I put the used batteries in instead of new ones. Whoops. But I got enough photos..you will see.

Then, we headed out the passage from Tahaa towards Bora Bora. Ah, open sea! When theses boats do that, they use the motor & sails so now the sail was open. I think the wind picked up just before we headed out. The clouds surrounded us and there was a slight sprinkling but no rain. I sat up with the Captain/ Skipper Jim, to be above the rocky waters as much as possible. Another passenger, Heidi, sat there too. About 15 minutes at sea, Jim had to strap down the bottom of the sail, it kept moving so much.

We finally made it to Bora Bora a few hours later and anchored near a large Motu which at its south end is the very expensive Hilton hotel.

You will see photos of one of the longest and most spectacular sunsets I have ever see!!
